스튜디오 코아 부Studio KHOA VU는 뉴욕을 기반으로 활동하는 독립 건축 스튜디오다. 코아 부는 건축을 오브제와 건물, 분위기와 구조, 전통과 재해석 사이의 협상 과정으로 바라본다. 유형론적 탐구와 재료적 감각이 만나는 경계에서 작업하며, 공간의 명료함이 감정의 깊이로 이어지는 지점을 추구한다.

다문화적 디자인 관점을 바탕으로 하고, 그레이스케일에 대한 지속적인 탐구를 설계의 중요한 축으로 삼는다. 개념적으로 엄밀하면서도 맥락에 단단히 발을 디딘 건축을 지향하며, 사유와 감각이 균형을 이루는 공간을 만들어간다.

Studio KHOA VU is an independent architecture practice based in New York City. Framing architecture as a negotiation between object and building, atmosphere and structure, tradition and reinvention, the studio operates at the threshold— where typological inquiry meets material sensibility, and spatial clarity yields emotional depth.

Informed by a cross-cultural design perspective and guided by an ongoing investigation into grayscale, the practice pursues architecture that is both conceptually rigorous and contextually grounded.

 

Architect

 

 

디자이너 코아 부Khoa Vu는 2025년 뉴욕에서 설립한 ‘스튜디오 코아 부 Studio KHOA VU’의 설립자이다. 현재 하버드대학교 디자인대학원(Harvard GSD) 건축학과에서 ‘디자인 크리틱’으로 재직하며 코어 마스터 스튜디오를 가르치고 있다. 하버드 GSD에서 우수 성적으로 건축학 석사 학위를 취득했으며 이 과정에서 아랄도 코수타 상(Araldo Cossutta Prize)과 교수진 디자인 상(Faculty Design Award)을 각각 수상했다. UC버클리에서는 최우수 성적으로 건축학 학사 학위를 받았고 예술 분야 최고 영예인 아이즈너 상(Eisner Prize)을 수상했다.

그는 WAF 선정 ‘40 Under 40 North America’에 이름을 올리며 북미 지역을 대표하는 차세대 건축가로 평가받았다. 그의 작업은 렉서스 디자인 어워드, 베니스 비엔날레, 아키텍처 마스터프라이즈 등에서 주목받았으며 AIA 인터내셔널에서 강연했다.

Khoa Vu is the founder of Studio KHOA VU, established in New York City in 2025. He is currently a Design Critic in Architecture at the Harvard Graduate School of Design, where he teaches Core Master Studio. Khoa holds a Master of Architecture with Distinction from Harvard GSD, where he received the Araldo Cossutta Prize and the Faculty Design Award. He earned a B.A. in Architecture with High Honors from UC Berkeley, where he was awarded the Eisner Prize, the university’s highest recognition for creative achievement in the arts.

Named among the WAF 40 Under 40 North America, Khoa is recognized as one of the region’s leading emerging architects. His work has been honored by the Lexus Design Award, the Venice Biennale, and the Architecture MasterPrize, and he has spoken at AIA International.
